Swedish engineering, design, and advisory services company AFRY (STO:AFRY) announced on Thursday that it has been selected to continue its involvement in the Tampere tramway project for the third phase, alongside partners YIT (HEL:YIT), a Finnish construction company, NRC (OSE:NRC), an infrastructure company and Sweco (STO:SWECO.B), an engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy.

The project is under the purview of an alliance consisting of AFRY, Finnish Tampere Tramway Ltd., the City of Tampere, and the Municipality of Pirkkala. Commencing in October 2023, this phase includes street planning for tram routes from Linnainmaa, Tampere, to Suuppa, Pirkkala, with a set construction cost target.
