Anger and fear after arson attack on food firm

The blaze erupted in Italian food and distribution business Carnevale's vehicle compound in Somerset Road, Aspley, on Sunday, April 7.

West Yorkshire Police has released an image of a man they'd like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Depot manager Jason Watkins said ten of the company's distribution vans were damaged in the blaze, with six destroyed and four to be repaired.

Jason said: "I'm angry because a lot of money's worth of vehicles has been destroyed.

"People could have lost their jobs if we'd had no vehicles for these drivers but luckily we managed to source vehicles from our other depots.

Carnevale is a familyrun business which has been manufacturing mozzarella, ricotta and specialist Italian cheeses, meat products and fresh pasta in the UK since 1966.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police have issued an image of a man they'dwant to speak with following an arson attack on a business in Huddersfield .
