Assault victim felt like she was in 'horror movie'

Teenager Kori Stewart was jailed for 32 months in December 2022 for offences including GBH on another woman

He had been released on licence but soon became violent again, on February 24 this year.

He was with the victim and another woman at a flat in Newcastle when he turned nasty, demanding tablets.

Newcastle Crown Court heard he punched her twice to the face, knocking her to the ground, where he stamped on her head before punching her again.

She managed to escape and ran up the communal stairs of the flats. Police attended and took pictures of the victim's bloodied face and there was also blood spatter at the scene.

In a victim impact statement, the woman said: "I struggle to put into words how I felt during this. I've never been the victim of an assault like this before.

"I was in complete shock and felt like I was in a horror movie.

"I've suffered from anxiety since the attack and I feel like my mind has been so low and I've struggled to do...
