Big anniversary 'was fabulous'

Bob and Lilian Bright first met when Lilian's brother brought Bob to their family home around 61-and-a-half years ago

She "instantly fell in love" with the apprentice welder's brown eyes, and a teenage romance soon blossomed.

The couple did everything from drinks to dancing to bowling on their early dates. Bob and Lilian tied the knot on March 23 1964.

They had two daughters and three sons and lived in a house in Wardley, before Bob moved to Aspen Court Care Home after a diagnosis of vascular dementia. Still, Lilian visits him every day and is delighted they were able to spend diamond anniversary together.
