Bleach in tumble dryer row ends in violent attack

Sarah Zibens accused the victim of ruining her clothes while both were staying in supported accommodation for vulnerable women in Newcastle

Simmering tension between the pair escalated over the course of two days and ended up with Zibens punching the victim in the face, breaking her nose.

Newcastle Crown Court heard it was in July last year that Zibens and the victim were living in the same establishment, along with other women. Joe Hedworth, prosecuting, said: "On July 6, the complainant and defendant had a disagreement because the defendant believed the complainant had used bleach in the tumble dryer. She became upset and said her clothes were ruined and had changed colour.

The following day, the defendant raised the issue again and the women exchanged abusive and racist language and Zibens said she would urinate on the woman's clothes. The victim later put some clothes in...
