Body found in extensive police search for missing mum Katie Kenyon

The body of a woman has been found during the search for missing 33-year-old Katie Kenyon. A woman matching Katie's description was last seen on April 22 travelling in a Ford Transit van which left Burnley towards the Bolton by Bowland area

Lancashire Police charged Andrew Burfield, 50, of Todmorden Road, with murder on April 27. Burfield appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court the following day. He will stand trial in November this year.

Specialist search officers from Merseyside, Lancashire, North Wales and Greater Manchester were tasked with finding the missing mum.

Today Lancashire Police confirmed via their social media officers searching for Katie had found the body of a woman. The officers made the discovery last night Friday, April 29 in an area of the Forest of Bowland after receiving new information about a location where Katie could be.
