What seems clear
is
that three countries with about as common
a
culture as one could expect to find, have widely differing patterns
of
labour relations (i.e. a culture in any broad sense is
of
little importance).
Even certain common socio-economic experiences such as inflation and
rapid urbanization have not produced uniformity. Final judgment
must wait, however, until there is more agreement on precisely what
characteristics are to be used in arriving at a judgment of whether
two industrial relations systems are ‘similar’ or ‘different
’.
The book
is
to be highly recommended
for
the information presented and
for
the many important questions raised, both explicitly and implicitly.
