The Willie Mullins nine-year-old made a successful return to action in the two-mile, five-furlong Savills New Year's Day Chase at the Co Waterford venue two years ago before giving his trainer a first triumph in chasing's blue riband 73 days later.

And Paul Townend's mount won both races in a campaign limited to two outings last season.

Al Boum Photo faces four rivals, including stablemates 2020 runner-up Acapella Bourgeois and Brahma Bull, and Ireland's champion trainer said yesterday: "He's worked fully, he's fit and well and ready for action.

"It's a nice race - probably a little short for him, but he likes the track and goes there in very good form.

"We always get very nice, safe jumping ground down there, and hopefully our fellow runs well and comes out of it sound.
