Boys score for charity with hiking challenge

Youngsters at Gleniffer Thistle raised an impressive £725 for charity Epilepsy Scotland by walking an amazing 25.32 kilometres with the rest of their total going to Accord Hospice

The 13 boys who took part in the fundraiser play for the club's 2012s Tangerines team.

They trekked from Hampden Park to St Mirren Park via Celtic Park and Ibrox.

In between stadiums, they had loads of fun during their adventure including spending time dancing and collectively singing with a local busker.

In all, the hike across an unusually sunny Glasgow took the boys over six hours with many bravely fighting off blisters by the end.

Despite this - and an offer to end the walk early by parents - all the boys insisted on pushing through to the finish at the SMiSA Stadium in Paisley.

A total of £1,475 was generated and split between Epilepsy Scotland and Accord Hospice in Paisley.

The team picked Epilepsy Scotland due to one of their teammates, Josh, having the condition.
