Caelum Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Scotch Whisky Business Compass Box.

UK-based specialist investor Caelum Capital Ltd., which is focused on premium beverage businesses, has acquired a majority stake in London-based premium Scotch whisky brand Compass Box Delicious Whisky Ltd., the firm said.
Caelum was set up by Manish Rungta, an ex-Diageo (NYSE: DEO) executive with a background in private equity.
Caelum has brought in Maurice Doyle as the new CEO of Compass Box to partner with the Founder, John Glaser, in the continued development of the business.
A spirits industry veteran, Maurice Doyle brings nearly 30 years of marketing, commercial, and executive leadership experience from within the global alcoholic beverages sector.
Caelum's investment will be used to strengthen the balance sheet of the company, acquire inventory, and build production facilities.
