Cemvita Factory Acquires Solfatara to Advance Position in Biomining.

Houston, US-based Cemvita Factory, a developer of CO2 utilisation for deep space exploration and energy sustainability, has acquired Denver-based biomining company Solfatara Laboratories to advance and scale the biomining business, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Solfatara specialises in extractive processes such as metal sulfide bio-oxidation and bioleaching, as well as acid mine drainage monitoring/prevention and microbiological assessments.
The acquisition includes Solfatara's scale up facility in Golden, Colorado, which gives Cemvita the ability to simulate heap leach conditions which will allow for the scaling of biomining technology in preparation for full field deployment.
