Swansea
ACASE of more than usual interest which the Swansea
Police were called upon to investigate occurred at
Mor-
riston, near Swansea, on the afternoon of the
joth
January,
1934, when the death of Doris Miriam Leyshon was the
subject of inquiries.
The
circumstances of the case were as follows :

scarf was about ayard long and it was tied in a careless,

little girl was wearing two coats and
the ends of the scarf were placed over the one coat and under-

The
mother and the child arrived at their destination
about 3p.m., and, whilst the mother assisted with the house-
work, the little girl played around the house.
The
houses in Bath Road, Morriston, are built in rows on
either side of the road,

of cottages in which the grandmother lived, is a piece of rough
waste ground.
It
slopes slightly upwards from the roadway
to the rear of the houses on the roadway above and is used

It
is the recognized
playground for the children in the neighbourhood
and
it is
overlooked by the persons using the roadway.
About 30 yards from the grandmother's house and about
