The reason I ask is that Billy - the novelty sausage product for kids, with a cute bear's face running through it, slice after slice, like a thick chunk of meaty seaside rock - is among the items featured on THE 1980S SUPERMARKET, a new show kicking off tonight on Channel 5 (9pm)

That's partly because the Eighties is when Billy Bear "character sausage" came into existence, as this foodie flashback series reminds us, along with other gems such as the Bird's Eye Potato Waffle, Um Bongo and the French bread pizza.
