The
Committee
received
the
reports
presen-
ted
by
the
Chairmen
of
the
Standing
Commit-
tees
and
the
Director
General’s
activity
report.
It
approved
the
establishment
of
the
European
Group
of
Public
Administration
(cf. Review,
No.
2/1973,
pp.
199-200),
with
the
status
of
a
working
group
similar
to
that
of
the
Working
Group
on
Informatics
and
Adminis-
tration
and
the
Working
Group
on
Integrated
Budgeting
Systems.
It
recommended
that
the
organization
of
the
European
Group
of
Public
Administration
should
not
be
too
rigid
and
that
its
subjects
for
research
should
be
chosen
with
discrimination.
The
Accounts
for
1973
were
approved
and
the
Treasurer
was
discharged
from
further
duties
for
that
year.
The
Provisional
Budget
for
1974,
to
be
presented
to
the
Council
of
Administration,
was
approved.
Mr.
Egger
was
requested
to
transmit
to
Mr.
Alan
Dean,
Chairman
of
the
American
Consortium
for
International
Public
Adminis-
tration,
the
thanks
of
the
Committee
for
the
exceptional
steps
he
had
successfully
taken
to
regularize
the
position
of
the
United
States
National
Section.
The
Committee
received
Mr.
Andr6s
Caso,
Chairman
of
the
Mexican
National
Section
and
of
the
Organizing
Committee
of
the
XVIth
International
Congress
of
Administrative
Sci-
ences,
who
described
the
arrangements
which
had
been
made
for
holding
the
meetings
and
for
welcoming
the
congressists
and
providing
them
with
accommodation.
With
regard
to
the
programme
of
work,
the
Committee
noted
with
regret
that
the
National
Sections
were
responding
less
and
less
to
requests
for
national
reports
on
the
agenda
subjects.
As
to
the
subjects
for
future
congresses,
the
Director
General
was
requested
to
consult
the
National
Sections
and
suggest
major
fields
of
interest.
After
having
examined
the
additional
report
of
the
Ad
Hoc
Committee
on
the
Reorganiza-
tion
of
IIAS,
the
Committee
determined
which
proposals
would
be
placed
before
the
Council
of
Administration
at
its
next
session.
It
decided
on
the
list
of
candidates
to
be
proposed
to
the
Council
of
Administration
in
view
of
the
1974
statutory
elections.
It
also
decided
to
propose
to
the
Council
of
Adminis-
tration
that
the
Statutes
should
be
amended
to
increase
from
seven
to
eight
the
number
of
Vice-Presidents
of
the
Institute
and
to
enable
the
retiring
President
to
remain
an
ex
officio
member
of
the
Executive
Committee
during
the
three
years
following
his
term
of
office,.
Other
decisions
of
an
administrative
nature
were
also
taken
by
the
Committee.
The
General
Index
of
the
Review
Necessary
for
ready
reference
to
your
volu-
mes
of
the
Review,
the
General
Index
for
1968-1972
has
just
been
published.
The
previous
General
Indexes,
for
1928-1937,
1938-1957,
1958-1962
and
1963-1967,
are
also
available.
All
the
contents,
including
the
book
notes,
are
classified
by
subject.
More
than
2,000
books
and
documents
have been
examined
and
the
list
forms
an
essential
bibliography
of
recent
publications
in
the
various
fields
of
the
administrative
sciences.

General
Index
for
1968-1972
is
obtain-
able
from
IIAS.
