Concerns after child hit at pedestrian crossing

Very concerning I've been told old child crossing Councillor McGrath

Witnesses reported that a six-year-old child had been hurt after being hit by a car in Huddersfield Road at around 4pm.

Images showed a large police presence at the scene alongside the ambulance service.

Huddersfield Road was closed to traffic as a result of the on-going incident. Councillor Tony McGrath, a Tory councillor in the Holme Valley North Ward, posted the information on Facebook. He said a six-year-old child had been injured on the crossing after being hit by a car, which is what sparked the police and ambulance response.

He wrote: "Very concerning news. I've been told it's a six year old child on the crossing.
