Cordel Group PLC (AIM: CRDL), an Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform that specialises in transport corridor analytics, announced on Tuesday that it has won a Data-as-a-Service contract with Network Rail (High Speed) Ltd. This contract, following the initial Proof of Concept awarded on 5 August 2021, focuses on data capture and analysis for High Speed One (HS1), the high-speed rail line linking St Pancras International in London to the Channel Tunnel.

The new contract involves monthly data runs along the HS1 line, utilising Cordel's certified Wave 32 LiDAR and camera hardware. The equipment, installed on trains conducting routine tasks, autonomously captures data to create a digital twin. This twin facilitates automated surveys, measuring critical dimensions such as Overhead Line Height and Stagger.
