JURGEN KLOPP admits Liverpool will not win the Premier League if they play as badly as they did in the first half of their damaging defeat to Crystal Palace

Eberechi Eze scored to consign Liverpool to their second home defeat in four days and Klopp says they will not overhaul Manchester City and Arsenal playing like that.

The Reds fell two points adrift of leaders City but are tied on 71 with Arsenal, who lost to Aston Villa, in second.

And Liverpool boss Klopp said: "If we play like we did in the first half, why should we win the league?

"If you play like we did in the second half, we can win football games. If we can win football games then we will see how many we can win.

"We have to be around when the other guys struggle, if they struggle.

"Criticism in these moments is completely fine and absolutely right. It's all about how we deal with it and in the first half we didn't do particularly well with that.

"But in the second half we pulled ourselves together and should have won the game."

Liverpool have failed to score in their last two games despite 40 goal attempts and Scotland skipper Andy Robertson bemoaned their wastefulness in attack.

He said: "It's been the story of the last few games and that's why we've been punished in these games.

"It's so frustrating today, we had so many chances.

"In the first half we were poor but in the second we had enough chances to win two or three games.

"We've not been as clinical in front of goal since we came back from international duty.

"When you are going for titles and trophies it is not a great thing.
