Don't be alarmed by siren

Syngenta will be testing its public warning siren on Tuesday 16 April between 11am and 2pm. It is only a test so don't be alarmed

The sirens are tested annually in case of an emergency and will be sounded at random intervals over the three-hour period. Letters are sent to local residents informing them of when and why the testing is taking place.

But it is likely that the siren will be heard much further afield.

The letter states: "To meet the requirements of our community safety plan, we have in place three very distinct, very loud public warning sirens, which will ensure that people nearby are alerted to any incident that may affect them and are able...
