Ahead of the game, Nicholson stressed getting the points is all that matters, no matter how they are secured.

He told the Chronicle: "We play them twice in a week, which I don't like anyway but we have to come with the same mentality that they are another Guisborough.

"That's no disrespect to anybody but we have beaten the likes of Redcar Athletic, Bishop Auckland and Guisborough here and they have to show that mentality again.

"Hopefully, we will have a big crowd in and the aim has to be three points.

"It doesn't matter how we get it, we need to win that game."

Elsewhere in Division One on Friday night, Whickham will hope to increase Northallerton Town's relegation concerns when they visit the Calvert Stadium.

Leaders Bishop Auckland will hope to take another step closer towards promotion with a home win against Penrith on Saturday and second-placed Shildon will hope to keep up the pressure on the frontrunners when they host Crook Town.

There is a local derby as West Allotment Celtic host North Shields and Newcastle Benfield entertain a Guisborough side looking to bounce back from their defeat at Heaton Stannington.
