Editorial
JULY-SEPTEMBER
1935
THE
Editor takes this opportunity once more of reminding
readers of
THE
POLICE
JOURNAL
that he is always anxious
to receive articles on any subject which directly, or indirectly,
concerns police-work.
Most editors are deluged by a flood of
MSS.:
the con-
tributions submitted are more than could be used, even if
all were suitable for publication.
The
Editor of THE
POLICE
JOURNAL,
however, does not find himself in this happy position.
Apart from articles and reviews sent in by the more regular
contributors, the amount of MSS. which is submitted is still
lamentably small. THE
POLICE
JOURNAL
is a magazine written
by the Police for the Police.
It
is essentially a medium for
the exchange of ideas and for imparting information and
offering suggestions which will have an instructional value.
There should be a large proportion of our readers who have
something to say.
The
flow of MSS. ought to be coming
in from all parts of the country and not only from certain
well-defined areas.
No doubt, some potential authors hesitate to commit their
ideas to writing because they are doubtful of their own literary
capacity.
The
Editor is anxious to emphasize that, if the
subject-matter of the article is good, the form or style of the
MS. can be easily adjusted in this office to meet magazine
requirements. Some of the best articles which have recently
appeared in these pages were subjected, at their authors'
request, to considerable editing.
