Top-class stayer Trueshan put up an extraordinary performance to win the Northumberland Plate under 10st 8lb before landing a third straight Long Distance Cup at Ascot and has now passed £1.5million in prize money

That has helped put the trainer within touching distance of £1m for the campaign once again, with Midnights Legacy's win at Epsom on Derby day another highlight.

That horse has retired to stud but plenty of other potential high

earners remain for the jumps season, with Tritonic, North Lodge and Harbour Lake all likely sorts for smart handicap hurdles.

Sceau Royal will continue to pay his way over hurdles and fences while Arkle winner Edwardstone heads a chasing team that also includes the progressive Major Dundee and The Glancing Queen.

Alan runs through the pick of his team here and you will get the inside line on all the news from Barbury in King's exclusive column, which resumes next week.

Admiralty House 3 ch g Sea The Stars - Akrivi He was very free on the Flat and that carried over to his hurdling debut at Kempton so it was encouraging that he could still win. He has plenty of ability and I thought he ran well when finishing second at Huntingdon last Sunday. Aldsworth 4 b g Pether's Moon - Handmaid He's a likeable sort, he was green on his debut but saw the race out well, staying on to finish fourth at Stratford. I'd imagine

he'll go straight over hurdles and his schooling has been grand. He's typical of the Pether's Moons in that they're laid back and get much sharper with experience. Betterforeveryone 5 b g Cokoriko - Lady Emily He's never shown anything at home but he ran two sound races over hurdles last season and showed improved form when stepped up to two miles seven at Bangor,

winning decisively. He's one to look forward to when he sees a fence but he's not ready for that yet.

Call Of The Wild 5 b g Fame And Glory - Glory Days He won three from five last season, progressing well. He made a pleasing seasonal debut when third in a valuable handicap hurdle at Ascot last Saturday and will now be sent over fences. Caramelised 4 b g Dansili - Caster Sugar He won his first two races over hurdles last season then couldn't build on that as the ground softened. But he was impressive in a handicap at Plumpton on Monday, winning impressively under 12st, and looks as though he is going the right way. Deyrann de Carjac 9 b g Balko - Queyrann Every time I wanted to run him last season it poured with rain and he's not a softground

horse. He still ran some sound races but by the time he got good ground in the spring he'd had enough. He's back in good form and off his mark of 122 you'd like to think he could do some damage, at two and a half miles to two miles six. He ran a terrific race when second at Wetherby, looking sure to win until collared close home.

Dickens 4 b g Excelebration - Open Book He had a late-summer holiday because the ground on the Flat was too firm and he's done well for the time off. He'll be one for two-mile novice hurdles with a bit of cut in the ground.

Edwardstone 8 b g Kayf Tara - Nothingtoloose He had a fantastic season, getting us back

on the scoresheet at the Cheltenham Festival by winning the Arkle Chase and then losing little in defeat at Aintree, where he was beaten by a sharper horse

who was better suited by that track - he beat the third and fourth as well as he'd been doing all season. I'm really happy with him after his summer break and aim to get him ready for the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham. That should tell us whether we stay at two miles or step him up to two and a half. He has a lot of stamina in his pedigree and now he's relaxing he'll definitely get the longer trip. He's never been over-raced and may improve again this season.

Egbert 5 b g Pether's Moon - Karla June Like our other Pether's Moon, he was green on his first run at Hereford but stayed on for...
