On March 23 1989, during the International Conference for
PolicewomenintheNetherlands, theEuropeanNetworkforPolicewomen
wasestablished. Its aims are to providemutual support,an exchange of
know-how andexperiences andthemeans to combineefforts toimprove
the 'functioning' of women in European police forces. It also seeks to
stimulate initiatives amongnational networks.
Members willreceiveregularnewsletterscontaining articles,reviews,
summaries and other interesting information.
Through financial aid provided by the Dutch Ministry of Internal
Affairs,it has been possibleto appoint a part-timeco-ordinator for two
