Everton ready for Round 2

The Toffees will present their case to an independent commission over the next three days as they look to avoid another points deduction

They were docked 10 points earlier in the season for breaking the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.

They got four back on appeal but now face a second charge. The first rap was for a four-year period - owing to seasons affected by Covid-19 - from 2018-19 to 2021-22 while the second one is from 2019-20 to 2022-23.

Clubs are allowed to post losses of up to £105m over three-year periods, or four in this case.

Everton overspent by £19.5m for their first charge. The amount they are over for the next period remains disputed.

The Premier League have said that Everton and Nottingham Forest "have each confirmed that they are in breach of the league's Turn to Page 40
