Riggins really started something for Ed Walker at Kempton back in 2010 and the trainer has not looked back since.

He was renting a 24-box yard in Newmarket at that time but he has moved four times as his operation has expanded and is now based at the historic Kingsdown Stables in Upper Lambourn, from where Peter Nelson sent out Snow Knight to win the Derby in 1974.

Walker, who gained experience in Australia and France and closer to home with Roger Charlton and Luca Cumani before taking out a licence, has sent out over 350 winners as a trainer.

He has had at least one stakes winner every year, with Lingfield Derby Trial winner English King the name on everyone's lips in the early part of last season.

That horse has now been sold, as has allweather legend Assimilation. But stalwart miler Stormy Antarctic and exciting sprinter Starman, who is being aimed at the

Diamond Jubilee Stakes, remain, among a string that includes several lightly raced or unraced middledistance three-year-olds who could be anything.

These are exciting times and you will get the inside story by reading Ed's column in these pages every week.

Older horses Amniarix 4 ch f Speightstown - Bold Lass She made a pleasing return in the Snowdrop at Kempton but they went very slowly and those who finished in front of her were ahead of her the whole way. She'll be better in a more truly-run race and there's more to come - she'll probably head for the Listed fillies' race over a mile at Goodwood in May. Came From The Dark 5 gr g Dark Angel - Silver Shoon He always promised to be a good horse and he's finally coming good. He was gelded and had a wind operation in the winter and he ran a career-best in the Scottish Sprint Cup then won at Newbury. I think he'll be too high now for the Wokingham and I'd like to run him in either the Achilles Stakes or the

Temple at Haydock and if that went well we'd think about the King's Stand at Royal Ascot. He has plenty of speed and a stiff five furlongs would really suit him.

Cap Francais 5 b g Frankel - Miss Cap Ferrat He was disappointing in Dubai but he's come back well. We're freshening him up and he'll go straight for the Royal Hunt Cup - that race should be perfect for him.

Caradoc 6 b g Camelot - Applause I've always had greater ambitions for him and I'd like to think he can become a top-end handicapper or even a stakes horse. A few

slowly run races didn't suit him last year - I think there's a big one in him over ten furlongs on fast ground.

Dreamloper 4 b f Lope De Vega - Livia's Dream She's a lovely filly who's always been very exuberant and we've battled hard to keep her...
