The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 153(4) of the Environmental
Protection Act 1990(a) and of a ll other powers e nabling them in that be half, hereby make t he
following Order:
Citation, commencement and extent
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Financial As sistance for Environmental P urposes
(Scotland) Order 200 2 and shall come into force on 26th March 2 002.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland o nly.
Variation of section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990
2.—Section 153(1) of the Envir onmental Protection Act 1990 (b) (purposes for which financial
assistance may be given) is varied by adding after paragraph (mm)–
“(nn) any scheme for the storage, treatment or disposal of any material or product f or the
purpose of preventing or reducing environmental dam age;”.
