Flights are diverted while runway defect is repaired

The flights involved included the Ryanair 8pm arrival from Krakow, a TUI flight that had been scheduled for 8.10pm coming from Tenerife, Loganair flights from Aberdeen (which had been due at 8.35pm) and Southampton (which had been due at 8.50pm) and the 9.05pm TUI arrival from Paphos

Further flights - from Bristol on Easyjet and

Larnaca on jet2.com - were also affected by delays.

The airport confirmed that the runway "defect" was inspected and the landing strip had reopened by around 10pm.
