Four more Labour hopefuls

The Local Democracy Reporting Service contacted all seven hopefuls and asked them to detail their aspirations for the town - and why they should be the Labour choice to represent Huddersfield at Westminster.

The first three responses - from James Flinders, Naheed Mather and Mark Morris - have already appeared. Here are the remaining four.

HUGH GOULBOURNE GROWING up in the 1980s as a mixed race child with my brother we had limited opportunities presented by Thatcher's Britain. That experience shaped my Labour values.

Our community stands strong together for others, but right now we're being let down.

Households are struggling disproportionately with the cost of living crisis, and there have been many years of under-investment in our transport, green spaces and local services.

In everything I do I take responsibility for results, from my work as a lawyer to championing an affordable heating project for council house tenants, setting up a collective power fund, and helping to run multiple youth sports programmes, environmental projects and town centre campaigns.

I'm proud to call Huddersfield home for me, my wife and our two daughters.

The best thing that I ever hear people say about me is that I'm someone who grafts, and who can gets things done.
