'GANG' IS BANG OUT OF ORDER AT COURT

Crown Prosecution Service bosses have released new guidance urging lawyers not to use the label as it may "prejudice" cases.

They should only refer to gang membership if there is clear evidence to support it.

The CPS document read: "Using the term 'gang' inappropriately risks casting the net of liability beyond that which can be established. It also disproportionately affects minority ethnic people."
