Giants stars pull out of England tie

And they weren't the only ones, with a total of 16 pulling out from an initial line-up named in April

Tui Lolohea, Chris McQueen, Luke Yates, Theo Fages, Ricky Leutele and Danny Levi have all been ruled out.

Two of the players in Hanley's squad, Kruise Leeming and Daryl Clark, are both part of Shaun Wane's England squad of players.

Giants' Jake Wardle, however, will play in the match after being named in the England squad.

The identity of the 'mystery' All Stars player remains unclear, though there is no specialist fullback currently in the squad.

Hanley said: "Obviously I know who the 20th man is but we're going to reveal all that on Tuesday." Discussing the selection issues he's faced, Hanley admitted he had spent the weekend on the phone ringing players to try and make up the numbers.

"It has been extremely challenging because our game is a real occupational hazard, car crashes every six to 12 seconds.

"It's been difficult from that point of view, then coming into the last round of games that was extremely difficult as well because you're worried about the injuries and suspensions. Trying to pull players in last minute, the difficult point is that players had already booked to go away with it being a free weekend. It has been so hard, I didn't think it would be as hard as this.

"But the boys here are excited, can't wait and want to test themselves against the best England players."

Meanwhile, England coach Shaun Wane has indicated he would welcome back James Roby if the record-breaking St Helens hooker decided to reverse his international retirement.
