GigNet, an international managed broadband, Internet and WiFi service delivery company in the Mexican Caribbean, said its 200-kilometer fiber-optic broadband network from Playa Mujeres to Cancun to Tulum continued to perform as designed during the region's recent electrical service outage, the company said.

The company's new 5,000-square-foot office in Cancun and its Network Operations Center (NOC) -- the first in Quintana Roo to offer local 24/7 network support for its customers -- also was not affected by the blackout.
