Woodsome Hall Golf Club Captains Glenn Paxman and Julie Lee raised the money for Project Youth Cancer, a Yorkshire-based charity supporting teenagers and young adults with cancer

The charity, formerly known as The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, was chosen by the incoming captains in April 2023.

Throughout their tenure, they hosted events and encouraged members and guests to contribute.

Men's Captain Glenn Paxman has a long-standing relationship with the charity through his company, Paxman, which provides scalp cooling free of charge to young cancer patients via the charity partnership.

The funds were accumulated over the year, starting with the Captain's Charity Golf Day in June 2023, where Glenn generously provided all refreshments at the halfway point on the course and asked members and guest golfers to donate.

The charity also supports 47 specialist hospitals throughout the UK that treat teenage cancer, and donates over 500 Christmas presents to young people spending Christmas in hospital every year.
