Jackie Moulding, 59, loved to eat takeaways, white bread, crisps and snacked on biscuits and sweets

But her unhealthy lifestyle meant daily tasks became a struggle as she struggled to put on her shoes and couldn't walk far without becoming breathless.

It was after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, Jackie decided it was time to take action and change her lifestyle.

Jackie, who has two children and two grandchildren, joined Slimming World and went on to lose 7st 10.5lbs, while dropping from a dress size 30 to 18.

Jackie, from Scotswood, said: "I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol in April.

"I then realised I needed to change my eating habits and lifestyle.

"I was scared I would die as my father had the same health problems and he died aged 50.

"I thought I don't want that for my children and grandchildren and was determined to change my eating habits.

"Before I started I would eat takeaways, chippy tea being my favourite.

"I used to eat lots of white bread, crisps, biscuits and sweets on most days."

Jackie, who works as a children's service manager, began attending the Slimming World group at the Regent Centre, in Gosforth, which is run by Janice Gallon, in April last year.

Since joining she has dramatically changed her lifestyle and daily tasks have become much easier.
