and North Western Railway Company in respect

undertakings in which they are jointly interested and
upon
the Great Western and Great Central Railways
Joint Committee in respect
of
their undertaking
for
vest'ing the undertakings
of
the Stakes and -West
Drayton and the Birmingham and Henley-in-Arden
Railway Companies in the Great Western Railway
Company for transferring
to
that Company
the
powers
of the Birmingham North 'Warwickshire and Stratford-
upon-Avon
Railway Company and extending the time
for
the construction
of
certain authorised railways
of'
that Company aiid
for

HEBEAS
it
is expedient
that
the Great Western Railway
Company (in this Act called
'(
the
Company
"j
should
be em-
powered to make execute
and
maintain the railway and deviations
widenings and alterations of railways aiid other works and
to
exercise
the pnmers
by
this Act respectively authorised and corifcrrecl
upon
them and
to
acquirc
for
the
purposes
of
this
Act
and
for
the
general
purposes
of
their undertaking and works connected therewith and
for providing increased accommodation certain lands
houses
and
buildings iu this Act described
or
referred to
:
And whereas it is expedient that the Company and
the
London
and North Western
Railmay
Company
(in
this Act called
"
the
North Western Company
")
should be empowered to

lands in this Act
mentioned or referred
to
in that behalf:
And whereas it
is
expedient that the Great Western
and
Great
Central Railways Joint Committee (in this Act

should be empowered to executo the works and exercise
the powers and acquire the lands in this Act mentioned or referred
to
in that behalf:
And whereas
plans
and sections showing the lines and levels
of
the railway and the deviations wiclenings and alterations
of
railways
and
other works by this Act authorised
to
be constructed and plans
showing the lands by this Act authorised to be acquired
and
aiso
books
of
reference containing the names
of
the owners and lessees
or
reputed owners and lessees and of the occupiers
of
those lands
were duiy deposited with the clerks of the peace for tha several
counties within which such railway and other
works
will be
constructed and such lands are situated and are herein-after
respectively referred
to
as
the deposited plans sections and books
of reference
:
Anti
vhereas
it is expedient that the time limited for the sale
of
certain
lands
acquired by the Compmy
for
the purposes
of
their
undertaking shoulcl be extended and that further
powers
should be
conferred upon the Company in respect
of
the sale
or
other disposal
of those lands
:
And whereas difficulties have arisen in regard to the construction
of
the railway authorised by the Great Western Railway (Additional
and the acquisition
of
!a=lds for the purpose thereof
owing to the restriction contained in subsection
10
of
section
7
of
the said Act
and
it
is expedient that other provision should be made
as
herein-after mentioned with respect to the coiistruction
of
that
railway and the lands to be acquired
for
the purposes thereof instead

the provisions contained in that subsection
:
And whereas the undertakings of the Staines
and
West Drayton
Railway Company and the Birmingham and Henley-in- Arden Rail-
way Company are respectively under the authority
of
Parliament
leased to
or
worked by the Company
:
And whereas the T'hircl Schedule to this Act contains
a
statement
of
the
particulars
of
the capital issued and raised by the said
companies respectively
:
And
whereas the Company have subscribed
for
and
now
hold
by
themselves
or
their nominees the shares aiicl securities of the said
companies nientioncd in the fourth column
of
the said schedule
ancl
it is expedient that the said companies should be amaIganiated with
the Company
in
manner provided by this Act ancl
thai
the Railway

should be abandonedi

And whereas the Birmingham Xorth Warwickshire and Stratford-
upon-Avon Railway. Company (in this Act called
"
the North
Warwickshire Company
")
were incorporated
by
the Birmingham
North Warwickshire and Stratford-upon-Avon Railway Act
1894

and
thereby authorised to construct the railways therein mentioned

1900.
and
by the Birmingham North Warwickshire and Stratford-upon-
-
Avon Railway Act 1895 and subsequent Acts furthers powers were
conferred upon the North Warwickshire Company
:
And whereas the railways of the North Warwickshire Company

now authorised form junctions only with the railway
of
the
Company and no company other than the Company have any rights
or
interests therein
or
thereover and the construction and working
of
the said railways as part
of
the system of the Company would be
of public and local advantage
:
And whereas the North Warwickshire Company are unable to
raise the capital required
for
the construction of their railways and
it
is expedient that the powers
of
the North Warwickshire Company
should be transferred to
the
Company and that the periods
now
limited by the Birmingham North Warwickshire and Stratford-
upon-
Avon
Railway Act 1898 for the compulsory acquisition of lands
for and for the completiou
of
the railways and works authorised
by
the said Act of 1895

Warwickshire and Stratford-upon-Avon Railway Act 1899 should
be extended
:
And whereas the directors and promoters
of
tho North Warwick-
shire Company have undertaken
to
discharge all their liabilities up
to
the 9th day
of
August 1899 (including the costs
of
applying €or
and obtaining the said Act
of
1899)
:

expedient that some of the provisions of the
