Hearn in pledge to battle on for fights

The British Boxing Board of Control yesterday announced the sport is to be halted in the UK for the next four weeks due to rising Covid-19 numbers across the country.

Josh Kelly's clash with David Avanesyan for the European welterweight title on January 30 has been postponed. Lee

McGregor's European bantamweight title bout with Karim Guerfi due to take place a week earlier has also been put off.

The BBBofC feel the sport cannot put further strain on the NHS with the pandemic reaching another peak.

There are also fears over a lack of intensive care beds in hospitals should a fighter be seriously injured.
