Humdrum hubby now horribly hip

He's always been dependable but dull. He's good at maths and computers, but has never been a party animal.

Back in July, he was offered a new job in IT. When it was allowed, he was in a trendy office with a group of much younger people, mostly men.

Almost from the start I could tell they were influencing him. He spent a fortune on much slimmer suits and trainers. He ditched socks and even bought a "Peaky Blinders" flat cap, which makes him look like David Beckham's manservant.

Worst of all he started talking in weird jargon. One day I asked him if he fancied coming shopping and he told me he didn't have the "bandwidth".

Now he's working from home and starting on me. Why don't I dress more fashionably? Why don't I sign up for an ultra-expensive Peloton cycling machines and lose some weight?

I think he's become infatuated with one of the younger women he works with, too. I hear them on video calls flirting and joking, and my blood boils. Does he think about her when he's having sex with me? I suspect he does.

Recently he suggested we try experimental positions and love games. The other night I spluttered: "What? Like full bondage?" to which he replied: "Yeah, if you like". Just for the record: I don't like… Our oldest friends have started taking the mickey out of him. They think he looks ridiculous with his silly haircut and recent tattoo. How can I tell him his new character is making me unhappy without appearing mean, old fashioned or small minded? I live in fear of being replaced by one...
