Ice-cold Cam too hot for Patriots to handle

AN INSPIRED Cameron Holden led the Cheshire Phoenix against the Plymouth City Patriots.

Holden was ice cold from the field scoring at 73%.

Not only was Nix's number 52 leading the way, regular point getters Aaryn Rai and Maceo Jack chipped in with an impressive 20 points from Rai and 17 points from Jack.

The Phoenix started their three games away run with a dominant 112-80 win over the Patriots at the Pavilions.

The Phoenix found a lot of success from three, with 51 of their points coming from behind the arc, with the Nix family behind them they couldn't miss.

The big performance all started when Laquincy Rideau cheekily stole the ball from Plymouth hands, he sent Jack away with a delicious pass, Maceo got the ball in his stride and was cleared for take-off, slamming it down hard on the seven-minute mark.

With the score at a close 18-16 to the Phoenix, Ethan Chargois carefully blocked a mid-range effort from the Patriots, the ball was picked up by Rideau again who sent the ball up the court for Jack to latch onto, the Nix number 14 steadying himself for the three-point shot with no hesitation.

Cheshire ended a steady first quarter up 30-24 as Plymouth's Tyrell Green hit a buzzer beater three to end the quarter.
