The Scottish handler captured the 2017 Aintree spectacular with One For Arthur and has her eyes set on Chepstow on Saturday.

She said: "I would like to think over three miles and six furlongs and on heavy ground it will suit him.

"As long as the ground is not too tacky, I think he will run a big race.

"He ran a very good race in the 2019 Scottish National, when the ground didn't really suit him - and he still finished fourth.

"At the start of the season we decided to aim him for this race."

Russell admits she would be happy to see some rain, but that might jeopardise this rescheduled contest taking place. It is the fourth time in 11 years that Chepstow has rearranged its flagship race due to the weather.

"He's a real stayer and has a bit of class," added Russell. "We finished second in the race with Silver By Nature when Dream Alliance won it in 2009.

"It would just be so good to actually go and win it this time."
