Kemin Industries Acquires Proteus Industries to Extend Position in Meat Processing Market.

Iowa, US-based ingredient manufacturer Kemin Industries has acquired Massachusetts-based food technology and ingredient provider Proteus Industries, Inc. to reduce usage of artificial ingredients and strengthen Kemin's position in global meat processing industry, the company said.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
This acquisition adds sustainable clean label yield enhancement technology to the global Kemin Food Technologies portfolio of ingredient solutions.
Kemin will rebrand the ingredient technology as Proteus to help commercial food processors improve retention of moisture and texture without reliance on artificial ingredients.
