Subject MatterLetter to the Editor
As they say, "unless someone knows better", this is the first
occasion when two serving police officers have qualified for earned
doctorates
and
the fact
that
they have done so whilst still performing
full police duties, make their success even more commendable.
AWELCOME
ARRIV
AL
At a moment when Bramshill is possibly receiving
"more
kicks
than
ha'pence", its long serving librarian, Dennis Brett has put the
whole service in his debt by producingaquiteexcellent "Bibliography
of the Police in England and Wales
1829-1979".
Anyone, who has ever worked on such a project, will appreciate
the meticulous
attention
to detail as well as the clarity with which it is
set out.

We print in full in this issue a letter received from the offices of the
Police Federation.
One is left with a fascinating picture of the sub-committee having a
quick meeting when the telephone rings or as a microphone is
thrust
under
Jim
Jardine's
nose
and
he is invited to
comment
on something
which has happened at the
1110st
hours ago!

COMMITTEE

Dear
Sir,
Comparisons
do tend to be odious, none less
than
your
somewhat
ill
informed
comment
which appeared in the
October/December
issue of the Police
Journal.
