LIFE'S A BREEZE FOR EZE

The £19.5m summer signing from QPR netted his first Premier League goal from a breathtaking free-kick against

Leeds in November.

And his Goal of the Season contender against Sheffield United, where the supersub glided from deep in his own half before slotting home, saw him compared with Thierry Henry.

Roy Hodgson claimed he was happiest with his summer signing's defensive duties as the Eagles kept a first clean sheet since September.

But Eze's ability to beat players effortlessly gives Palace much-needed extra firepower alongside top scorer and talisman Zaha. And his team-mates know it.

"Ebere is a lad with so much ability," said central defender James Tomkins.

"I said to him after he scored, ''hat is what you have got to do to defenders.

Run at them at pace.' He asks me, 'What things don't you like?' When someone runs at that pace with that skill, he is a nightmare to handle."

Zaha, who deleted two posts on social media on Saturday night slamming "haters", is playing with the drive and passion missing last season as he seeks a transfer.

Hodgson insisted Eze's signing was not to replace the Ivory Coast winger, although Zaha would have been proud of Eze's strike in first-half stoppage time.

"They're both so very, very good on the ball," said the Eagles boss .

"When they receive the ball, their footwork is so good, their ability to quickly change pace and eliminate an opponent - they share that ability. Both of them have got the strength and the power that when they've eliminated their opponent, they can keep on the ball, they can keep going, they can attack the next one."

Eagles assistant boss Ray Lewington was "apoplectic" in the dressing room at half-time in the previous home game against Leicester .
