Lyon, who was also inches away from converting another chance, admitted: "I was thinking that maybe I could do four out of four.

"I had chances and had the ball in the net in the second half.

"It hit me on the stomach and then on to my arm, to be fair.

"I don't know the rule, but I can understand why the referee disallowed it.

"But coming away from Alloa with a point is not the worst result."

It could have been so much better, though.

Craig Brown looked all set to give Montrose victory in added time only for Wasps keeper PJ Morrison to pull off a stunning save.

Lyon added: "Craig will be disappointed, but he did well to hit the target.

"And it's still all up for grabs. Just getting into the play-offs is our objective.

"I've never played in the Championship, so to do it with Montrose would be a great achievement."

Alloa had their chances to win it too, with Connor Sammon and Bobby Wales going closest.

They now face a tough run-in, with Cove, Hamilton and Falkirk lying in wait and defender Morgyn Neill said: "We're disappointed with a point, but it...
