Visitors are flocking to the Red Lion Truck Stop's pub, restaurant and gift shop

As well as shower and launderette facilities, a shop selling CB radios and hi-vis jackets, it offers food and drink with live sports on big screens.

Members of the public as well as truckers visit the stop-off along the M1 near Northampton to sample its famous curries, burgers and Sunday roasts.

Owner Ali Sadrudin, 38, who runs it with wife Zarfeen, 40, said it is also a hit with revellers who visit for nights out at weekends to enjoy £3 pints.

Dad-of-three Ali said: "We bought it as a pub with permission to turn it into a hotel but it sort of just morphed naturally into becoming a truck stop.
