A report ends the image of the "crazy cat lady" as blokes now rehome more kitties

Over the past four years 27% of men have taken on an adult cat, compared to just 18% of women, UK Pet Food's annual Population Report shows.

This translates to 1.5million new male households against 1million female homes.

Amazing pet ownership stats reveal 17.2million households -

some 60% - now have one of the UK's 36million (non aquatic) pets. There are 13.5million dogs and 12.5million cats - an increase of 1.5million each.
