Magpies duo's 'resignations' explained

Despite the emergence of documents from Companies House that the pair have "resigned", it is believed that the papers are simply deemed as "housekeeping" and following company practice. The documents do not mean that Reuben or Staveley will be stepping down from their positions

And we have been told that the changes do not reflect any alteration to the club's board of directors. The papers also state that Darren Eales has been appointed as a director but he is set to continue in his role as CEO.

The confusion comes from the fact that Newcastle United Football Club Limited is a dormant company and on the papers covering Newcastle United Football Company Limited, Staveley and Reuben remain active. Staveley has also resigned from a host of other Newcastle United companies, it comes after seeing her initial 10 percent shareholding in the club diluted to six percent earlier this year following a cash injection by fellow investors.
