Both are England and Great Britain internationals and seen as key in Huddersfield's drive to finally challenge for silverware.
Robinson said: "They're polar opposite players and have had very different careers.
"One is in the mixer and is a tough, uncompromising player.
"And everyone knows what Jake is about. He can do things no other player can do.
"He was my centre when he first came into the[Huddersfield] side at 17 and noticed he could do things that you can't teach. He's got that bit of magic.
"I had to to tell him to be quiet a few times in games because he was doing my head in giving the opposition a load of stick - but he's had a brilliant career."
On veteran ex-Warrington prop Hill, Robinson added: "Hilly started in the Championship [with Leigh] and worked his way up.
"He did it tough and went on to become one of the league's top forwards for the past 10 years.
"To play the amount of games that he has with the consistency he has is a credit to Chill."
Huddersfield are looking to deliver a third win of the season after beating Challenge Cup holders Leigh and thrashing Castleford 50-8 last week.
But they know Rovers pose a big threat even if not at full throttle themselves.
KR started with wins over Hull FC and Leeds but suffered narrow losses to Salford and Warrington in their last two outings.
Robinson conceded: "They're a little bit more inconsistent than I thought they would be.
"They're still a really dangerous side and showed that last year when they were really consistent.
"When you go through their games this year with a fine-tooth comb, you realise they probably should have won those games they lost.
