Mother sent texts 'asking partner to beat son'

Andrezej Latoszewski yesterday admitted killing his stepson, Sebastian Kalinowski, at his home in Leeds Road, Huddersfield, in August last year

Agnieszka Kalinowska, Sebastian's mum, and Mr Latoszewski deny the charges of murder, causing or allowing the death of a child and neglect.

Ms Kalinowska denies a charge of manslaughter.

The trial, which could last seven weeks, will continue at Leeds Crown Court as both defendants are still charged with the remaining offences.

In court yesterday, details of text messages sent between the two defendants were revealed.

Prosecuting, Jason Pitter QC said Kalinowska, "exchanged messages with her co-accused when he was out of the house, asking him to come back and 'beat the **** out of the w***e'."

Mr Pitter continued: "She admitted to having 'already smacked his gob' and told him to wait...
