The communication and
data
processing needs of three Government
Departments in New Zealand: Police, Justice and Ministry of
Transport, are all dealt with by the Wanganui Computer Centre
System.
The States Services Commissionand contractors were responsible
for systems development,
but
it is personnel of the Commission, not
user organizations, who are responsible for on-going software
maintenance and central hardware operation. Aforum for the
various organizations is provided by the Policy, Management and
Working Committees, the roles and compositions of which are
specified by the Wanganui Computer Centre Act.
The Working Committee deals with day to day problems of the
system and comprises staff from user departments, central
