BEIJING - Nissan today announced the start of sales in China for the Lannia sedan through Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV).

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn described Lannia as "unlike any previous Nissan car" when it was unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2015 in April. Lannia is the collaborative result of Nissan's global and local experts. The bold, mid-size sedan answers the wants of young, energetic Chinese trendsetters for a refreshing automotive experience - Lannia delivers with its forward-looking and sporty design, and pioneering technologies. Lannia is offered at a starting price of RMB 105,900 (USD 16,944).*

Nissan Lannia

By the Chinese, for the Chinese

Evolved from the Friend-ME concept and Lannia Concept premiered in China at Auto Shanghai 2013 and Auto China 2014, respectively, Nissan has taken the time and enlisted the local expertise necessary to understand the "post-80s and post-90s" generation who are becoming the most influential demographic group in China. In fact, Lannia's original design was initiated by young team members at Nissan Design China. Throughout Lannia's development process, this China-based team was in the driver's seat.

While Lannia embraces a local vision, it also reflects Nissan's latest global design language with several distinctive signatures, including the V-motion grille, boomerang-shaped LED headlamps, Kick-up C-pillar and floating roof. As well, Lannia's muscular and unconventional look speaks to young Chinese who want to stand out from the crowd and be recognized as unique.

The interior of Lannia matches its dynamic exterior with a modern, driver-centric cockpit, an instrument panel that builds on the Gliding Wing concept, and high-quality sporty materials used in seating and trim which appeal to the sense of personality and fashion of the young generations.

"Lannia was created for the rising Chinese generations who want to set themselves apart as both edgy and sophisticated, and this very first China-centric model is a tangible expression of Nissan's commitment to the market," said Jun Seki, President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL), Nissan's joint venture in China. "It also symbolizes Nissan's focus on localizing business in China for China."
