It is a paradox that, in this year of International Migration’s 25th Anniversary, this
Summer issue of International Migration will reach your desk late, where International
Migration has had a record in the latest years
of
being punctual.
This delay is due to mere technical reasons and we are pleased to be able to inform
you that our Autumn and Winter issue will appear shortly
so
that we will be back to
normal before the end of this calendar year.
Moreover, measures have been taken to the effect that International Migration will
become more standardized, i.e., each issue will have approximately the same number of
pages
:
about some 120.
This expansion of our journal reflects internal developments within ICM whose
General Council made the decision to change ICM into IOM, International
Organization for Migration, the change of name indicates, next
to
growing importance a
recognition of the increasing need for research activities in which our journal hopes to
play important a role.
