A police inspector in Pontardawe has received a request from one of the
inmates of
Her
Majesty's prisons
that
an eye should be kept on his house whilst
he is a guest of Her Majesty the Queen. The man who made the request, says the
inspector concerned, is a
persistent"
breaker".
During President Johnson's visit to Vancouver, a
RCMP
sergeant was de-
tailed to accompany the head of state in his limousine. At one of the impromptu
stops, the president mingled with the crowd, shaking hands all round. Whilst
doing so, he noticed a little boy whispering to his mother.
"Do
you want to
shake my
hand?"
he
asked-"
No
sir",
was the reply,
"I
want to shake the
Mountie's
hand".
Pictured below are members
of
the 100-
strong special patrol group which began
operations in North-West London under
the overall control
of
Assistant Com-
missioner J. L. Waldron in May. On

of
the Group's control
vans manned by Sgt. John Cook and
W.P.c.
Mary
McKay.
